This four-track EP showcases Tomos Lewis’ exceptional vocals, fiery guitar skills and sweetly sensitive hook-filled tunes. It is an EP to sway, dream, smile and weep to. 

After leaving home at 17 years old to work at the foot of the Snowdonian Mountains in Dolgellau he found there was very little to do – that was until he was given a Washburn guitar with 3 strings at the end of one summer. Thankfully he qualified to six strings by Christmas and went on to learn from as many local musicians as possible in exchange for a sofa to sleep on and if they were lucky a few beers too. ‘My Friend Marx’ is the debut album from Irish folk-blues artist Marc O’Reilly. Its release has been greeted with much acclaim in his native Ireland and received extensive national media, radio and TV exposure with Marc been strongly tipped to follow artists like James Vincent McMorrow and Villagers as Irelands international breakthrough artist of 2012.

David Grubb’s – Fiddle Tune A Day

David Grubb, is from Cardiff and is studying music. Some might say he would have his hands full just going that but no… for the last year David has been hosting a project where by he learns a a new fiddle tune every day and then posts it on-line on his You Tube page.  He originally started the project as a bit of fun to learn new tunes, however it soon began to gather momentum and now; the total video hits are over 66,000, which we a folking feel is something to be very proud of. Kristy Gallacher – ‘Fending off the Frost’

Kristy Gallacher is a singer/songwriter from Coventry. I was impressed with her new video of a song called ‘Fending off the Frost’ and thought I would share it with you below…

Kristy signed to the independent record label, Broken Player Records (www.brokenplayerrecords.com) in 2008 and each release since have been on the label. Kristy regularly performs on the acoustic circuit to sell out audiences across the UK and has supported Scott Matthews, Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), Ed Sheeran, I Am Kloot’s John Bramwell, Miles and Erica (Wonderstuff) Mark Morriss (Bluetones), Nerina Pallot, Polly Paulusma and Nizlopi.

In May 2010 Kristy won the LG Arena’s singer/songwriter competition and played before Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood and John Mayer on separate nights at the LG Arena in Birmingham. Subsequent to the competition win, Kristy was invited back to the LG Arena’s Forum live to play before Paul Weller. The title track of Kristy’s 2008 debut album ‘Emotional Gun’ has been selected for the British Library Project which achieves significant new music. In 2009 Kristy’s first live CD was recorded (by Nova Music) at the historic Troubadour, Earls Court, London. Kristy has formal musical training with a degree in Music Composition gained at Coventry University.
